A wide variety of religous groups kept records of birth, baptism, marriage and burial. Most family historians will check parish records but it is also essential to check the non-conformist records.

These go back to the mid 1600's when various groups refused to conform to the Church of England and wished to have religous freedom to worship in their own way. These groups include Presbyterians, Congregationalists, Baptists, Quakers, Methodists, and Unitarians.

The records kept include Birth and Baptismal certificates and records of marriage and burial. Often the records give three generations of family names in the one entry. A great way of quickly extending your tree. The number of non-conformists is said to equal the number following the Church of England.

We have millions of records that can be easily searched and the results are linked to transcripts including trees plus the image of the original record displayed.
